Adobe Captivate to oprogramowanie przeznaczone dla osób, które zamierzają tworzyć interaktywne materiały szkoleniowe i zawartość HTML5 do e-learningu. Program Captivate umożliwia przygotowywanie prezentacji produktów w jakości HD oraz interaktywnych symulacji aplikacji, a także środowiska testowego. Z łatwością można również zmieniać prezentacje utworzone w programie Microsoft PowerPoint w interaktywne materiały szkoleniowe z wykorzystaniem aktorów, motywów, obiektów interaktywnych oraz quizów. Oprogramowanie Adobe Captivate oferuje ponadto możliwość publikowania zawartości w Internecie i na komputerach stacjonarnych oraz w czołowych systemach zarządzania nauczaniem zgodnych ze standardami SCORM i AICC, a także na urządzeniach mobilnych, jak np. tablety iPad.
